My Approach

My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I believe that people are the experts in their own experiences, and I take the time to understand their perspective, strengths, and goals. I also believe counselling should be practical and useful beyond the counselling room. Together, we can identify what is getting in the way and develop realistic tools and strategies that can be used in everyday life.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and also draw from my training in DBT, trauma-informed practice, anxiety, ADHD, and social skills. I am a PEERS® Certified Social Skills Provider which is an approach to enhance the quality of friendships and augment social skills among individuals who fall within the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

My counselling experience includes supporting youth and adults with anxiety, self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationships, social skills, and life transitions. I also have several years of experience supporting young people in educational settings, including students with a wide range of learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the different ways challenges can affect a person’s day-to-day life and wellbeing, as well as how helpful practical, individualized strategies can be.

Individual Counselling (ages 13+): $150 per hour

My Story

My background in education and counselling has given me the opportunity to support people across a range of ages and experiences. I have spent several years supporting young people through academic, social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, while my counselling experience has allowed me to support people more individually as they work through anxiety, relationships, emotional regulation, self-confidence, and other areas of their lives.

I was drawn to counselling because of the opportunity to support people in a more personal and individualized way. I especially value working with adolescents and young adults, as these years can bring significant changes in identity, relationships, school, work, and independence.

I aim to create a space where people feel heard and understood, while also helping them build practical skills they can use outside of counselling. Whether someone is feeling overwhelmed. struggling with emotions or relationships, navigating ADHD or autism, or simply trying to better understand themselves, I want counselling to provide both support and concrete tools they can take into their everyday lives.
