About Strength in Heart Counselling
At Strength in Heart Counselling, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality mental health support. We provide warm, client-centred, trauma-informed counselling to individuals, couples, and families in Victoria, the Cowichan Valley, and online across Canada.
We are a growing team of counsellors with diverse backgrounds, clinical interests, and levels of experience. This diversity brings a wide range of perspectives to our team and creates opportunities for ongoing learning and connection. We currently work out of 2 in person offices on Vancouver Island, and online across Canada.
At Strength in Heart, counsellors enjoy the autonomy and flexibility of private practice alongside the benefits of being part of an established practice. With administrative support and steady client referrals, our counsellors can focus their energy on what matters most to them: caring for their clients, deepening their clinical skills, continuing their education, and developing their own areas of specialization.
Our intake process is designed to understand each client’s needs and help connect them with a counsellor whose experience, approach, and areas of interest may be a good fit. This allows our counsellors to build meaningful caseloads aligned with the work they are passionate about.
We believe that professional growth is enriched through connection with colleagues. Our peer support meetings provide a regular, confidential space for counsellors to share questions, discuss clinical approaches, exchange helpful resources and perspectives, and celebrate one another’s successes. These conversations bring together the diverse experiences and approaches of our team in a supportive environment where counsellors can learn from one another and receive professional feedback and support from colleagues.
We are committed to supporting counsellors throughout their careers. Our practicum student program creates opportunities for experienced counsellors to mentor students, if interested, while welcoming emerging clinicians into a supportive professional environment. We value the range of knowledge, experience, and perspectives that each clinician brings to our team. Together, this diversity helps us offer high-quality, accessible care to a wide range of clients.
