Navigating Pet Loss & Grief: You’re Not Alone
Hello, I’m Adria, and I want to speak directly to anyone who’s grieving the loss of a beloved pet.
If you’re reading this, you might be feeling a deep ache in your heart—a quiet emptiness at home, or a longing for the familiar sound of paws on the floor. I see you. I know how much our animal companions mean to us. They’re family, confidants, and sources of unconditional love.
Losing them can feel overwhelming, and sometimes, it’s a grief that isn’t always understood by others. You might hear, “It was just a pet,” but you and I both know it’s so much more than that.
Why This Hurts So Much
Our pets are woven into the fabric of our daily lives. Their routines become our routines. Their love becomes a steady presence. When they’re gone, it can stir up all kinds of emotions—sadness, anger, guilt, loneliness, even relief or confusion. Every feeling is valid, and your grief deserves space and care.
My Approach to Pet Loss Counselling
In my counselling practice in Cobble Hill and Victoria BC (I also offer online virtual counselling) I offer a gentle, non-judgmental space for you to:
Share your memories and celebrate your pet’s life
Express your emotions, whatever they may be
Work through feelings of guilt or unanswered questions
Explore ways to honour your bond and begin to heal
I believe that healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means finding ways to carry your love forward, at your own pace and in your own way.
You Don’t Have to Grieve Alone
If you’re struggling, please know that you don’t have to go through this alone. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions. Our first step is a free 20-minute consultation, so you can see if I’m the right fit for you.
Let’s honour your pet’s memory together and help you find peace, one gentle step at a time.
If you’d like to connect, you can book online or reach out to me directly.
You’re not alone, your grief matters.
With warmth and understanding,
Adria
