Individual & Couples Counselling

Sally Stuike (She, Her) MACP, RCC

My Approach

I am a client-focused, strengths-based therapist who works with people who have experienced trauma. I will work with you in a gentle & compassionate way to identify actions, reactions, & behaviours that may have once served you, but are now impacting your life in unhelpful ways.

I use a holistic approach based on the understanding that trauma impacts both the mind & the body. I use a range of therapies to help people connect with themselves again, such as DBT, ACT, EFT, & Narrative Therapy. Your session is adapted to you & your needs, & my approach is warm, collaborative, & non-judgmental.

Together, we will explore your unique experiences & find ways to help you feel complete, at peace, & strong in yourself. I will support you to explore your power & potential, as well as to find a sense of calm in your world.

My Story

Since childhood, I have been known as ‘the helper’. Whether at home, at school, in the workplace or with friends, I was the one who made space for people, listened & supported where I could.

Like many people in our society, I have experienced trauma in my life. I personally understand what it’s like to experience depression & anxiety, & also how to heal & grow through them. Those experiences led me to a path of healing & growth where I learned how to use my experience to help others. In the beginning I sought mental health support, & began to get honest with myself about the changes that I needed to make to live a more authentic, fulfilling life. Along the way I became personally acquainted with trauma responses like people-pleasing & controlling behaviour & the impact that these responses can have on relationships. Through my personal journey of healing & growth I learned how to navigate these landscapes & it would be my honour to walk beside you with compassion & grace as you embark on your own healing journey.
