My Approach

Welcome! So good to meet you here.

I believe that each of us has the capacity to transform: how we relate to ourselves, how we engage with others, and how we connect to this world. Whether you are struggling in your life, seeking clarity, or wanting to come back to yourself, I am honoured to walk alongside you. I recognize that we are all complicated, contradictory beings, and I welcome all parts of you in the therapeutic space. Let us explore your inner world with compassion and curiosity.

My practice is relational, client-centered, trauma-sensitive and attachment-informed. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the healing work, and because of this, I emphasize that it feels like a good therapeutic fit for you.

I draw on humanistic, narrative, psychodynamic, and somatic approaches. I am committed to reflections on oppression and its impacts on oneself and experience, and stay critical of how these experiences oftentimes get misconstrued in the western colonial framework of psychology.

I believe the therapeutic space is sacred, and recognize the immense vulnerability in showing up and sharing.

My Story

I arrive in this space as a White, cis-gendered, queer settler of German, Scottish, and Irish ancestry. I am immensely grateful to live and be on unceded traditional lək̓ʷəŋən territory of the Songhees, WSÁNEĆ, & Esquimalt First Nations.

I am a deep believer that the multiplicity of my experiences inform how I show up in my counselling practice. I understand that healing is holistic; my own healing work integrates mind/body/spirit and has been done in the context of supportive relationships, including with the non-human world. My belief is that healing is not an individual practice, and that being witnessed, and witnessing oneself, is essential.

My own personal experiences in therapy remind me of the miracles that can emerge from the therapeutic process.
