My Approach
Existing in today’s world can feel overwhelming and disconnected, as we are asked to navigate constant expectations, pressures, and noise that pull us away from ourselves. Therapy offers a grounding, supportive space to pause, make sense of these experiences, and reconnect with what truly matters to you, helping you move through life with greater clarity, compassion, and resilience.
I offer a client-centred, holistic approach to therapy that honours the wisdom of mind, body, spirit, and connection to our environment. I support clients in reconnecting with their inner knowing, restoring balance, and gently aligning with their authentic purpose. Together, we will explore and soften the inner dialogue, cultivating a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself. By transforming self-criticism into curiosity and care, we can discover inner peace, self-trust, and a sense of empowerment.
I am working with Strength in Heart as a Master’s of Counselling Psychology practicum student, moving towards my professional designation of Certified Clinical Counsellor. I will hold space, offer non-judgmental support, and gentle guidance so that you can reach your therapeutic goals.
My Story
Growing up in downtown Toronto, I was always surrounded by a diverse mix of people from all walks of life. During the summer, I would travel North on wilderness expeditions, where we would adventure deep into the backcountry. It was the juxtaposition of how people relate to a busy urban lifestyle and the calm solitude of a landscape several days away from the nearest town that shaped my appreciation for the complexities and diversity of the human experience. Eventually, I became a wilderness guide so that I could take people to these powerful natural landscapes, travelling through rugged country by foot, canoe, and skis. I have also spent over a decade tree planting. Doing this work is where I learned to find peace in repetitive movements and growth through painful moments.
When I began my education in counselling psychology at Yorkville University, I drew parallels between evidence-based therapeutic theories and the healing power of these outdoor experiences. I believe in incremental change through thoughtful, intentional choices and movements. I believe that our current frame of mind does not have to define us; with non-judgmental understanding and the right tools, we can change how our inner voice speaks. How we relate to our environment, to others, and to ourselves is informed by our unique, complex, imperfect collection of human experiences.
Bringing awareness to the moments that have shaped us is powerful knowledge in understanding the story we tell about ourselves, but sometimes these moments are buried within us. I will support you in uncovering the parts of yourself that might be hidden beneath the surface, and work with you to feel whole in honouring your authentic self.
