My Approach
My approach to counselling is grounded in the belief that each of us holds an innate wisdom—a deep inner knowing that guides us toward healing, balance, and wholeness. This wisdom is not always loud or obvious; it often speaks in subtle ways through our emotions, through the felt sensations in our bodies, and through the quiet stirrings of intuition. In a world that often encourages us to override or suppress these messages, my role is to support you in slowing down, tuning in, and learning to trust what your inner self is trying to communicate.
I view emotions not as problems to be solved, but as powerful, meaningful teachers—especially during times of grief, transition, disconnection, or emotional overwhelm. Whether emotions feel confusing, too much, or like they’ve been historically misunderstood or pathologized, there is space for them here. Together, we gently explore their roots and what they may be asking of you, while honoring the resilience it has taken to carry them.
My work invites a process of returning to a fuller sense of self—where all parts of you are welcomed, validated, and seen. I offer a warm, relational, and client-led space where your lived experiences, needs, and pacing are respected and centered. This includes acknowledging the ways that systemic oppression and intergenerational trauma may shape how safety, expression, and connection show up in your body and relationships.
Drawing on the wisdom of the body, the nervous system, and the natural world, I support you in reconnecting with the tools that already exist within you to regulate, ground, and grow. These tools might emerge as a felt sense of safety, a clearer inner voice, a reconnection to land or ritual, or simply the ability to breathe a little deeper.
This work isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about coming home to who you already are.
My Story
I was born and raised as a settler on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Mississaugas of the Credit, in what is now known as Guelph, Ontario. Nestled beneath a canopy of cedar trees along the Eramosa River, I worked as a nature-based practitioner for over a decade. That land taught me so much, and I continue to carry its stories and songs with me here, to the unceded territories of the Songhees, Esquimalt, W̱SÁNEĆ, and lək̓ʷəŋən and SENĆOŦEN-speaking peoples. I am of Scottish, English, French, and Germanic heritage, and part of my own healing has involved reclaiming the earth-based spiritual practices that live within my ancestral lineages. This work has deeply informed my approach to practice, offering me a sense of rootedness and belonging that I seek to share with others.
Grief has been one of my most enduring and transformative teachers. It has moved through my life in many forms—through the heartache of personal loss, mourning environmental degradation, and the deep, often invisible grief that comes from childhood trauma. I've also journeyed through many layers of complex relational dynamics, each one offering lessons about boundaries, attachment, and the longing for connection. These experiences have not only shaped who I am, but have also invited me into a deeper understanding of what it means to sit with pain, to soften around it, and to allow it to guide me toward healing. Grief has taught me that we don’t need to have it all figured out in order to be whole. It has expanded my capacity to hold space for others with tenderness and presence, and to walk alongside them with empathy and trust as they navigate their own unique landscapes of healing.
My connection to nature, earth-based ritual, ceremony, and ancestral wisdom has taught me that healing is not a linear process, but a weaving—one that honours the interconnectedness of mind, body, land, and spirit. Working with plants and the natural world has guided me back to myself. It has shown me how to reclaim my power, how to hold space for difficult emotions, and how to remember that I am loved and held by something greater. This is the kind of energy and presence I aim bring into my work with clients: grounded, compassionate, and always honouring the wisdom that already lives within you
